Artist Statement

I do not draw or paint the way I photograph.  The differences between them are night and day.  Just like my varied interests.  I attempt to achieve in my landscape photographs a justice to the image that the scene itself would want to convey if it could.  I see photographing trees, which I love to do, as taking a portrait that it could not take of itself.  I’m constantly amazed by the serene beauty and magical happenings that can and do happen everywhere.  It is my goal to be there when that happens.   Architecture has always been and interest of mine as well.  The juxtaposition of the organic with man made is most interesting.  My drawings and paintings often convey a sensual feel.  I depict the beautiful nude female with a simplification of form.
